My name is Grant LaFleur. My dad, Gary LaFleur for the last 7 months has been hospitalized off and on with multiple strokes and complications of blood pressure and kidney failure. My father was laid off at the end of February leaving him with no health insurance and stuck figuring out any way to bring in any sort of income. While looking for new opportunities through application and interviewing processes he was door dashing 12-15 hours a day any time he could. In July he suffered 3/4 strokes. In August he was found unconscious in what doctors believe was kidney failure as a result of the medications to help from the strokes.
He is working hard to recover through speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy to help improve many things caused by the strokes. Although many things have improved with his health such as his balance, touch, speaking, and memory, the medical benefits and income since July the bills have added up putting us in a financial hole with everyday living expenses on top of the treatments/therapy’s.
My Dad had an incredible impact to his friends, local community and the soccer community in which he coaches for over 20 years with all age groups while playing since a child. He has had a positive impact in the players’ lives while supporting players mentally, physically and at times financially over the years. My siblings and I are also super involved in the soccer community as we’ve been coaching and volunteering to better our community. We all are/ student athletes and as we endure and conquer this tough times we are hoping and asking anyone who can to help with his living costs and medical bills while he recovers.
We are asking for your help. Thank you!
