Bring Clean and Safe Water to the Hopi and Navajo Nations

Safe, running water has long been in short supply on the Navajo and Hopi reservations. But when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, a tough situation got even more difficult as the lack of clean water led to an increased number of infections and risk of exposure. Some families have to haul water every other day; others travel upwards of 90 miles round-trip just to collect enough water to last for one week.

Here's a grim statistic: one in three families on Navajo Nation does NOT have access to running water.

But water should not have borders.

To improve this situation, Sedona-based Sedona Water Works is raising funds to purchase five-gallon, BPA-free water jugs to help provide clean water for drinking and cooking to more families on the Navajo and Hopi reservations. A crew of volunteers will haul these jugs out to families, pick up empty containers, and return them to Sedona Water Works where they will be sanitized, refilled, and sent back out.

Presently, this initiative supports families on the reservation. But, with the support of your generous donation, the team is hoping to expand their reach and bring fresh water to more communities throughout the most rural regions. All time and energy is on a volunteer so all donations will go directly to water containers for these Indigenous communities.

No family should ever be without safe water.  Thank you in advance for your support!
