To cover cost of Todd Rosenthal's Jewish burial.

UPDATE: This photo is from Todd's burial on Wednesday, July 12.
We knew Todd had a special (audible) voice, but did you know he was the great-grandson of Yossele Rosenblatt, regarded as one of the greatest cantors of all time? Although Todd deserved respect on his own merit, we made it known that he came from royal cantorial heritage and it just gave the service an extra bit of heartfelt lyrical spirituality. Check out the chilling but heartwarming voice of Todd’s great-grandfather here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F&source_ve_path=MTY0OTksMjg2NjQsMTY0NTA2&feature=emb_share&v=y1HURXWH9FA
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR DONATIONS.

On Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, the Oceanside High School, NY graduating class of 1980, lost one of its “Sailors,” Todd Rosenthal. Anyone who knew Todd knew that he was quite a character. Always joking and full of life in many ways. Todd was a valued member of the football, basketball, and wrestling teams throughout his time in Junior and Senior High School. In wrestling, he took down some wrestlers much bigger than him.
He was a very strong and powerful athlete growing up. All while maintaining his silly, funny, loving personality.
Todd sadly passed away at the young age of 61, due to complications from diabetes. The silver lining on this is that our beloved friend is no longer in pain or suffering.
Todd is loved by many friends and now we have the opportunity to perform a huge blessing, a mitzvah, in the Jewish religion. Todd was a Jewish man who deserves the dignity and respect of a proper Jewish burial. Sadly, his family is not in a position to provide Todd with this blessing, so they have granted us, his friends and classmates, this opportunity to provide Todd with a proper Jewish burial.
With a last-minute save, Todd was pulled back from cremation, which is forbidden by Jewish Law. We have already brought Todd from Kansas to New York where, with the gracious assistance of the Chabad-Lubavitch organization, the Chesed Shel Emes Cemetery and the Bais Yisroel Funeral Home, Todd will have proper Jewish preparation and burial, where a minyon of 10 men will witness the burial, and a small headstone will bear his name (Tevya, aka “Todd”).
The cost to get Todd prepared for travel, and transported several hundred miles from Chanute, Kansas to the Lewis Jewish Funeral home in Kansas City, Missouri, then prepared for air transfer from Kansas City, MO airport, and flown back to JFK where he was turned over to Bais Yosroel Funeral home, is now up to us, his friends. All expenses up to getting him to Bais Yosroel for burial have been paid for by some of his caring, loving, gracious friends.
This is an act that will remain with each of us throughout our lives and eternity. There is no greater act than taking care of one’s childhood brother or sister. We hope that you are able to join us in this final act of love for our friend. Even friends of friends, if they feel so inclined, can assist. Amazingly the cost of the burial itself will be provided by the very kind Jewish organizations mentioned above, to which we will remain forever grateful.
We want to ensure that Todd's soul will be able to truly rest in peace. Your donation will be an act of true selflessness.
