Help Cover Medical Expenses for Jared Stolz
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Scott Haigwood and I'm raising funds to help an amazing kid in his time of need. Jared's family is a giving family, always seeking to help and serve others. Now we get to show them some love in return.
Here is an explanation and update from Jared's parents about what happened and where they are at:
"On Saturday morning, 1/6/24, Jared, was in a tragic dirt bike racing accident in Taft, CA. His bike cut off power mid jump and he fell 20 feet, went over his handlebars, and was thrown off the track onto his back.
He broke his back (vertebrae) and lost all feeling and mobility below his waist. He was taken to Mercy Medical In Bakersfield from the track, and then transferred to Cedars-Sinai Saturday night for spinal surgery.
Jared came out of surgery at 12:30am Sunday with the best possible outcome! Praise God! His spinal cord is not damaged and they secured 21 screws, titanium plates and two rods in his back. He also had bone grafts done as well to help rebuild his spine. He needed a blood transfusion at the end of surgery as he lost a lot of blood.
Today is day 2 post-op. He is in a lot of pain and still has no movement. Good news is that he is starting to get some sensation back in his legs. Recovery from what we know is a long road. He will be in the ICU for a week and then get moved to step down units and eventually to the Cedars Rehab center.
They think it’s possible for him to have a somewhat normal life after a year-long journey. It’s still too early for Jared to feel anything in his lower body or to know if he will walk again.
Prayers are so welcomed."
My goal is to give them the time and space to not be stressed about finances so they can focus their energy on Jared and his healing journey. Anything you can give is much appreciated.
Jared's family (Eric & Julie, Jason & DeeDee, and his brother and sisters) appreciate the love, prayers and support.
