We, relatives and friends are devastated to share the news that Eileen Gibbons, a dedicated social care worker, mother and friend to many was involved in a tragic accident in Darwin Australia where she lives with her 1 year old daughter Silvia. Eileen, a compassionate caregiver known for her dedication to her patients, now needs our help to overcome the challenges she faces. In addition to the physical and emotional toll on Eileen, her mother Ann, and other family members, are desperate to be by her side as she embarks on her path to recovery. The costs of travel, accommodation, and unforeseen expenses have placed an immense financial strain on them, leaving them unable to provide the support that Eileen desperately needs. This go fund me page aims to raise funds to reunite Eileen with her family members so they can offer her love, care and support through this difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant impact on Eileen's recovery and enable her family to be by her side during this challenging period and eventually bring her back home to Ireland. Just a quick update on Eileen and Silvia. Eileens mum Ann, Auntie Marian and cousin/best friend Maria arrived in Darwin a few days ago. It was an very emotional reunion for all . As you probably heard, the two girls are doing well. Eileen has only started on her journey to recovery. Hopefully, she will navigate her way to full recovery and sometime, Silvia and herself can start to get back to normality and enjoy the life that they deserve. The gofundme page has reached a milestone today, it has doubled it's target to over 100,000 euros. That is amazing. You, all of the people who have donated are amazing two, You have showed the world that when tragedy strikes, people care. We have over 12,000 euros of your money spent on flights so far. A big thank you to all the Doctor's , Nurses, paramedics and everyone in the hospital that has helped Eileen in any way. I would like to thank everybody on behalf of the Gibbons family for there good wishes, prayers, phone calls, and financial support. Late last week, Marion, Maria and I travelled to Darwin to be with Eileen and Silvia. This has been made possible by the great generosity, kindness and support of so many people who donated to our gofundme page. The lovely messages, phone calls, prayers, candles and financial support we have received have lifted us up and carried us along on a river of goodwill. Bringing to life the lovely words from the beautiful poem in anam cara. "And so, May a slow wind work these words of love around you. An invisible cloak to mind your life." Echoing the words of her dearest friends, Eileen's humour, witt and charm is one a kind, a lasting impression left on those who know and love her. It's a testament to the outpouring of supportand generosity she, her family and friend's have received this past week. To those friends by her bedside in Darwin, keeping her spirit alive and stepping in to care for silvia, we are forever grateful. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you each and everyone.
