To help Peter's family with their medical bills

Peter's devastating journey,

 

It is heartbreaking to hear what this beautiful family is going through since Peter was admitted to the hospital due to Covid-19 infection and placed in a drug induced sleep/coma due to severe complications, he was intubated and suffered kidney failure.

 

For those of you who do not know Peter, he is 42 years old, a great husband and a father to two beautiful children, Adam (8) and Julia (10), and the main household breadwinner. 3 weeks ago, Peter and both of his children started experiencing Covid-19 symptoms. They immediately sought medical attention and unfortunately all 3 of them tested positive for Covid-19. While the kids suffered manageable symptoms for several days, Peter's symptoms kept getting worse and was admitted to St. Joseph hospital with severe symptoms that required his admission to the ICU. Fortunately, his wife Dorothy suffered no symptoms and is able to take care of their kids. 

 

Upon Peter's admission to the ICU, where he currently remains, he was intubated to assist his lungs, placed in a drug induced sleep/coma, his fever remains uncontrolled between 103- 105 degrees, his lungs are struggling with a critically low oxygen concentration, severe hypotension, hyperglycemia and his kidneys failed, requiring dialysis.

 

This unexpected and unprecedented devastating event has changed this family's entire life. According to his ICU physicians, they have exhausted every possible treatment approach in hope of saving his life. At the present time, all they can do is manage his symptoms and wish for the best. His wife has been approached by palliative and End-of-life nurses to discuss various options. It was determined that if Peter makes it (God's willing), he will have permanent medical conditions that will require continuous medical care and support.

 

As you can imagine, life has stopped for this entire family and this long term battle has imposed a major financial burden on his wife and 2 kids. We can only pray and hope that Peter survives this battle with the least permanent organ damage and stays with his family.
