To help Supplement Jims income while out of work.

I am writing on behalf of my good friend Jim Travis. Many of you know Jim through his website and Facebook page Vibz Arizona and his deep involvement in the Tucson and Arizona music scene. Jim seems to be everywhere, whether it’s organizing celebrations

for local musicians, sharing videos of a live event, or just lighting up his friends with his infectious smile when you see him at a show. On some evenings, Jim makes it to three different shows in one evening, so that he can show his support for the many musicians

playing around town. Just look for the hat and you’ll find Jim.

Jim’s character as a human is of the highest quality. In conversation Jim naturally makes you feel that he truly cares about you, listens to your story, and offers his thoughts and perhaps some good ‘ol friendly advice. The caregiver in Jim is something he has done professionally for the last 18 years. He has touched so many lives, caring for seniors in our community, and doing the work that most of us would not do. That is Jim.

For the past year or so, Jim has been experiencing great discomfort due to issues with his esophagus and stomach. You wouldn’t know he is in pain if you saw Jim because he

hides it well. Jim has been advised that he must undergo an invasive procedure, which requires surgeons to put in place a titanium ring around his esophagus.

Jim’s surgery was already postponed once due to an illness, which has prolonged his suffering. His surgery is now scheduled for this Friday, April 28th. Jim’s recovery will require complete rest for one week, and then he can start a very limited work schedule for the following three weeks. Jim will need some income support from the community to help him get by. During this month-long recovery period, Jim cannot be a full-time caregiver.

So if we all pitch in, our community coming together can help give back to Jim what he gives to our community. Whatever you can do will make a big impact and will help our friend return to the joyful life that he shares with all of us. Just look for the hat.
