This is for my friend Amber and her son Alex.

As alot of you may know, I have been very concerned about my oldest child's health. Alex has lost a tremendous amount of weight along with having alot of pain in his legs and from his waist down. This has been going on for the past few years. As a mother at first it was me saying it could be growing pains(he's 20), then it became worse. After many doctors and many rounds of bloodwork, everything looked normal so of course my natural reaction was to ask, are you on drugs? Are you depressed? Do you have self image issues with your weight? Are you forcing yourself to throw up? When I say he lost weight I mean he is so malnourished at this point I was scared he would go into a coma and his organs would shut down. My mom and I finally convinced him it was time to just go to the er and maybe they will find something this time, because now his legs were starting to give out. He would collapse to the ground in mid stride and say he couldn't feel his legs. Long story short, they found a very rare disease that is a tumor on his spinal cord. Its called myxopapillary ependymoma. It is HUGE. He will be having surgery early next week. This will not be some simple surgery. It will take at least 12 hours and lots of teams of doctors. They keep reminding us of the high risks of being paralyzed due to it being on the spinal cord and spinal nerves. Without the surgery he will 100% be paralyzed. Because of the location it has shut off his bowels and bladder from working properly so without this surgery he will go septic. I'm asking for all the prayers for my baby.
