Help Steph Get Proper Medical Care & Thrive

Donation protected

Steph is such a gift, joy and blessing to all who know her.

And now we have the chance to be a blessing, a support, a champion to her on her health care journey.

Her journey to receive effective medical intervention for endometriosis has been complicated, frustrating and has taken far too long. She has been left with more questions than answers, more defeat than victories and YET she perseveres. Steph is bravely shedding light on the all too common challenges that women face when accessing medical care. This disease can be extremely challenging for so many reasons, but the feelings of isolation and loneliness can feel particularly overwhelming.

We are here for you Steph!

Steph is the last to ask for help and she is the first to offer her time, energy, support and talent to making others lives better. She makes the world more beautiful, inclusive and magical just by being her true self, and also through her role as a mom, as an artist, as a gifted photographer, as a yoga teacher, as a wife, as a friend, as a beloved community member and as a warrior for women’s health.

It’s our turn to lift up someone who is usually the helper!

Whether you can give $1 or $10 in honour of the 1 in 10 women who are also living with endometriosis, or $190 for the 190 million women impacted globally… every dollar not only helps on a practical level to help Steph access timely treatment but every donation is also a symbolic way to say that women’s health matters.

Here is Steph’s story in her own words:

I was...
16 when I first passed out from period pain and was taken to the hospital ( many, many ER visits over the years
22 when I was first asked how far along I was in my pregnancy ( this question has been posed to me too many times to count due to my severe bloating aka:
Endo belly)
25 when I was first suspected as having Endometriosis but told there was nothing that could be done
32 when I started peeing myself because of endometriosis on my bladder
33 when I stopped wearing jeans and could only wear stretchy pants -this continues until this day
35 when the brain fog and fatigue started affecting my life to a debilitating extent
36 when I started bleeding from my belly button and told that this is just a new normal for me
37 when I decided enough was enough and decided to take control of my health
$30,000 the price it is costing me to get the healthcare I need. I'm traveling to the United States and paying for everything out of pocket. Maxing credit cards and I went to the bank for a loan. There is no reimbursement from the NS government or Federal government at this time (that I can find!) but I will be fighting like hell for this to change.
1 am 1 in 10.
You either know a woman or are a woman who fights the battle every day. I see you.
