Freedom from child and forced remarriage in Afghanistan

To Louth with Love Community Sponsorship Group (CSG) is organizing this fundraiser.

Let’s give a life and grant freedom for a single Mum and her daughters from the prison of child marriage and forced remarriage in Afghanistan.

Will you help “Hasinat” (not her real name) a divorced woman with 3 young daughters, who are hiding from the Taliban’s threats of enforced re-marriage for herself and child marriage for her daughters which equates to permitted sexual violation.

Hasinat is being additionally targeted because her sister was a known LGBTQ+ activist before August 2021. The whole family stands accused of promoting LGBT rights and is internally displaced and on the move regularly to evade the Taliban leader hunting them down. They are under constant threat of discovery and desperately need our solidarity and support.

Through the Irish government’s Refugee Protection Programme, the ‘To Louth with Love’ Community Sponsorship Group (CSG) has applied for their legal resettlement in Ireland. Their visas and travel arrangements are guaranteed. Now, as required under the Programme, we need to raise funds to meet their immediate start up needs on arrival in Ireland and as they settle and begin to build a new and safe life here.
