To mend a kind heart: Help a loving Father

Greetings everyone,

We, Humaira Yusuf and Sadaf Yusuf are the children of Engineer MD. Yusuf, and we humbly request your assistance in saving our father's life and bringing him home.

Our father is an ordinary man who spent his life raising a lovely family of four. It’s his wonderful heart that sets him apart from others, making him more than ordinary. He is a compassionate and soulful person who has brought joy and light to the lives of those around him. He is an Ex-Cadet and his friends fondly call him "Bandor" (The Monkey). He is a caring father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend who has touched countless lives with his kindness.

Unfortunately, a few months ago, he was diagnosed with Ischemic Cardiomyopathy, which has weakened his heart and put his life at risk. The Ejection Fraction (EF) of his heart has now dropped to 28%. We sought treatment at United Hospital Limited in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where a stent was placed in one of his major arteries because of a 70% blockage. However, due to a rare condition, his health worsened three days later, and doctors had to put him on life support.

It has now been over a month, and he remains on life support, as doctors try their best to improve his condition with medicines. He has been experiencing life-threatening arrhythmia attacks and doctors have advised a 3-chamber CRTD pacemaker installation to save his heart. Hence, we are urgently seeking life-saving treatment for our father as we fight this illness. Due to the lack of health insurance in Bangladesh, the cost of his medical care is sky-rocketing, and we are struggling to bear the financial burden, having already exhausted our savings.

Every day, we are incurring medical expenses of $1000, and so far, we have spent a total of $40000 out of our own pockets. However, we still require an additional $50000 to cover the remaining treatment expenses. Considering that our father is retired as well as our soon-to-be-retired school teacher mother and our current salaries, it is now impossible for us to even bear half of the expenses. As a result, we have launched a GoFundMe campaign on social media to raise funds to support our father's treatment.

Although we cannot share photographs of my father's condition in the Cardiac Care Unit as it violates United Hospital's privacy policy.
