in addition to disrupting lessons and exam preparation there are also hidden social problems most people aren’t aware of.
For those of you who only know me as Mrs Lyons I’m Head of Design Technology at Telford Priory, a local state comprehensive.
We are all aware of the issues regarding Free School meals, as highlighted Marcus Rashford’s amazing recent campaign. Within our community, when a year bubble closes because of proximity to a positive test that can mean over 200 students are sent home. This could mean certain percentage Pupil Premium children may not receive their free school meal. In addition to this, we have a number of families where one or both parents have lost their jobs and no only afford even some basic essentials like; nappies, bread, milk, let alone a big Christmas turkey. I am asking you- from the bottom of my heart to donate just a little something, so these children can have a Christmas.
