Toby's National Youth Music Theatre Opportunity

Hi, we are Tim & Karen and we are writing this on behalf of our son Toby, a talented young performer who has been selected to take part in the National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT) production of Carousel this summer.

The National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT ) is a fantastic organisation offering world class opportunities for actors and musicians between the age of 10 to 23 years, to perform in their annual cycle of professional stage productions. They are renowned for their commitment to nurturing young talent and providing exceptional training and performance opportunities for those wanting to move into the performing arts profession.

Their alumni of young performers includes Olivier, BAFTA, and Golden Globe award winners including Idris Elba, Eddie Redmayne, Matt Lucas, Jude Law and Sheridan Smith.

A bit about Toby.....

Toby's an active performer in the Swindon area with a passion for musical theatre and a dream to one day perform on the West End Stage.

He trains locally at Elias Performing Arts and has featured on the stage of Swindon's Wyvern Theatre many times including in the Junior Ensemble in the pantomime for the past two years. He took on a principal role for the first time in last year's Summer Youth Project production of The Little Mermaid (as Chef Louis) as well as taking lead roles in school productions of The Little Shop of Horrors, Bugsy Malone and Oliver (which he also choreographed).

We are delighted that he has just been awarded a scholarship at the renowned Swindon based Wilkes Academy for Performing Arts to study an Extended Diploma in Performing Arts from September this year.

Toby initially auditioned for NYMT in January and was invited back to a recall in London (ArtsEd) in February after which he was offered a part in their production of Carousel.

To be asked to join this summers cast is a significant achievement, over 1,100 young performers auditioned for approximately 150 places with 30 being picked to feature in Carousel.

Participating in such a high-calibre programme is an amazing opportunity but it comes with substantial costs, including tuition, travel, accommodation, and other related expenses.

Toby is determined to cover some of the costs himself and is looking for companies who would be interested in sponsoring him in return for social and local media coverage.  NYMT has a huge following on Instagram and other social media channels which are extremely active particularly during show weeks.

He would be incredibly grateful for any support you can give to help make this opportunity a reality for Toby.
