My name is Ashley (Clark) Kidd and I am Todd Clark's Daughter. On Thursday July 18th, Todd suffered a massive heart attack while on vacation in Aruba. 8/3 UPDATE: He fought courageously, however passed peacefully while in the company of his family and friends. Arrangements forthcoming.

The day was spent at our friend Jorge’s beach bar, with a tame day of lunch, drinks, beaching and pooling just the Clarks, Kidd's and the Kidd’s friends. Around dinner time, the Kidd group went off for dinner at the hotel bar/restaurant and Todd and Taylor went off to go-cart with Jorge, his girlfriend and two sons. Ida hung back at the hotel and grabbed pizza for the guys to have late dinner.

Dad and Taylor made their annual trek to the go-carts, and were having a great time. Todd even shook his fist in competition at Jorge as he passed him. On the final lap the cars get slowed down to come into the pits. Taylor and the entire crew noticed quickly that Todd hadn’t come in. That’s when they noticed his car was off into the wall/tires. At about 8:15PM, Todd suffered a massive heart attack, they believe the heart attack made him lose consciousness and drive into the wall. He was wearing a helmet. Taylor was the first to his side.

Jorge’s girlfriend Valentina is a trained medical professional from Columbia and in conjunction with (3) Dutch military men who happened to be there as well, began CPR until the Ambulance came. Todd was brought back, and needed his heart to be shocked a number of times. Because of this, we do not know his neurological condition, or how long he was without oxygen. Todd was admitted to the ER where they transferred him to the cardiac building. Upon examination his heart has one fully blocked artery, and three damaged others, the heart was working at 20-25% capacity when regular function is 60%. They could not clearly find a place to “stent”, as the heart was damaged and weak. He requires multiple bypasses, which they cannot place on the island. He has been in the ICU fighting battles of waking up, healing his heart, pneumonia, and a blood clot in his leg. It is the recommendation of doctors in Aruba and here at home that he needs to be transported to the states for care.

Ida has not left Todd's side besides when hospital visiting hours end. The timeshare where she owns is very near the hospital, and has held a room for her for these extra days. She will fly home alongside him.

We are navigating moving forward personally and professionally. Todd is a proud business owner of 32 years, and I will do everything possible to keep our small business afloat. Clients have been very patient and considerate in that regard, and I could not do it without the help of Chris Hill.

Todd's insurance will not cover his medevac flight, and we are unsure what coverage he will receive for his many days in the ICU abroad, and future medical bills once he is home.

My family I are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support, from friends, family, clients and acquaintances. Many strings have been pulled to get to where we are today. I've been asked countless times "what can I do?". Sadly there is not much we can do but wait and see, which is slow torture.

Due to the many inquiries and offers of fundraising, I've created this page to support in Todd's growing medical bills. We thank you for your generosity. If you cannot give monetarily, we genuinely appreciate the power of positive thoughts and prayers.
