Hi, my name is Michele, I represent the many friends of Todd Cooper who wish to help him in his hour of need.

Todd is a very sweet, humble man who served our country in the Marines for 7 years. During his time in the Marines, he donated a lot of his down time to Toys for Tots, helping to enrich the lives of others. Todd later worked 14 years for the Stewarts Corporation in the maintenance department. For the past 4 years he has been with the Saratoga Springs City School District, first as a beloved school bus driver, and for the past three years as a maintenance mechanic. As a maintenance mechanic he keeps our buildings safe and running smoothly for our faculty, staff, and students. Todd is known and respected throughout the district for his knowledge and dedication.

In the Spring of 2023 Todd had skin cancer removed from his ear and underwent radiation treatments. Shortly after radiation Todd noticed a pea sized growth in his neck. He went to the doctor immediately and was told he should have it removed. Todd has a complicated medical history including a kidney transplant 4 years ago, and dialysis. He needed to undergo tests and gain releases from his doctors before receiving more surgery. The tests took time and within months the mass had grown from pea size to the size of a goose egg. Todd came to work for many days in severe pain to fulfill his job duties. When the mass was removed in September it was determined to be cancerous. The cancer has since spread to his blood and bones. Daily radiation treatments have kept Todd home since his surgery. At first, chemo was not thought to be a viable treatment. Typically, it is not given to patients that have undergone a transplant. After a few weeks, with his cancer spreading, chemotherapy was given the green light. Todd receives radiation 5 days a week and chemo 1 time a week.

At this time Todd has gone through all of his sick, personal and vacation time. He is soon to be in an unpaid status. Todd lives with his son who is not currently working so he can be Todd's full-time caregiver. We would like to raise money to help our dear friend pay his medical bills as well as the many monthly bills that just keep coming, such as his mortgage.
