Todd Eckert medical and living expenses

Donation protected
This fundraiser is on behalf on of our local law enforcement officer, Todd Eckert.
In August of 2022, doctors found a large mass on Officer Eckert's voice box which was later determined to be malignant. His voice box was removed in November and he began radiation treatments. The treatments were completed in February of 2023.
Todd had been out on medical leave during this time and was able to draw short term disability. In May 2023, he was informed that he would no longer be able to draw this and would need to return to active duty in order to stay with the force.
By the end of May, Todd became ill once again. At this point, Drs found lumps in his lungs. He started chemotherapy treatments in June and are ongoing at this time. His diagnosis is currently stage 4 lung cancer.
Todd has been on medical leave since May, however his short term disability will come to an end in October. His chemo treatments will still continue at that time.
Todd has been serving the citizens of Martin County for twenty-four years. He began with the town of Shoals police department in 1999 and graduated from the academy in 2000. He has played a role in helping the youth and individuals of our town while assisting at events such as Shoals Make a Difference Day, school functions, Little League games, Shop With a Cop and representing our police department in the annual parades.
He has helped in his capacity as an officer, a citizen and a friend to many. Now he needs the help and support returned from his community. Medical needs , gas , cost of living surpass disability income. Soon that will end as well. His future with the force is uncertain and out of his control. This town is known for taking care of its own. Todd is one of our own and we owe him a debt of gratitude for his service. He has put on that uniform and went out there, putting his life on the line for all of us. Every little bit helps.
If you prefer to donate directly, you may do so at The Crane Credit Union Bank in Loogootee. You need only give them Todd's name and they will directly deposit it in his account, along with a note of the donors name if you wish. The Gofundme is linked directly to his account as well. Thank you and God bless!
