Maybe you know Todd from the countless pages of stories in Cindy Ross's published books, or from his breathtaking and award winning chainsaw carvings and blacksmith creations - or perhaps you know him personally as a friend or family member. Whether you've hiked miles on the trails with him, sat around a campfire through the Riverhouse Project, or followed his career - Todd has probably touched your life in some way. Todd is a warrior with the heart of a saint. He listens more than he talks, cares more than he shows, and has a passion for life and hard work like I have never seen. He's the best of us; a kind soul who deserves so much more than the awful hand he has been dealt, and right now, his spirit and body are damaged.
The day after Thanksgiving, Todd fell from his roof and broke 3 vertebrae in his neck, changing his world overnight. With paralysis over much of his body, a rod in his neck, and 9 screws holding it in place, Todd is faced with a future like he has never known before.
However, just because his world changed over night, doesn't mean that his support system did. Right now, we have the ability to show him that this journey is not a solo one - and we as his friends and family are here every single step of the way. Whether that be one medical bill at a time, one meal at a time, one letter at a time, or one hug, we can come together to provide that for him. Please consider supporting Todd in his moment of need - because we all know, that if the roles were reversed, Todd would literally build us a village if we needed it.
Todd's needs are vast and largely unknown at this point. What is known is that once released from the hospital, Todd will spend weeks and/or months in intense inpatient physical therapy, face mounting medical bills, and need a lifetime of adaptive tools (including an adaptive van) to get him back to what he does best - inspiring everyone to live life with kindness and love.
As a professional fundraiser, I have represented many worthy nonprofits from financial literacy to sick and injured animals, and I can say wholeheartedly, no cause has ever been more important than supporting my Uncle Todd and his family right now. Please consider supporting Todd today and if you have any questions at all about how you can help raise funds for him, please contact me or a member of his GoFundMe team.
