Todd (AKA Milkman) Heyer

Todd had a rough night following his port placement.  I assumed this brief procedure would be pretty uneventful.  His wife Kristy reported:
He had a horrible night.  He kept waking up and feeling nauseas and when he'd sit up he said it was like champagne bubbles coming up but it tastes like salt.  He ended up puking once and he can't get comfortable sitting or laying and just flops between the two.  He's miserable!!  If he takes a couple bites of something to eat he gets full, gassy and more miserable!!

Todd has received his port.  He reports that he is doing well.  Stay tuned...

Anyone who has met Todd knows what an amazing man he is.  He would give a kidney to save someone's life. Literally!  Back in 2007 he gave his kidney to save his brother's life.  At the time he gave this gift of life, his only daughter, Laney, was just 5 months old.  Wow!  What a man!

Todd, his adoring wife (Kristy), and daughter need your support as they start the battle against Stage 1B adenocarcinoma of the pancreas.  Todd will get his port placed next week and start chemo on March 16th.  The hope is that the chemo will shrink his tumor enough for surgery.

This picture shows where the unwanted tumor resides.

In June Todd will turn 50.  It would be great if he could celebrate this milestone in better health and not strapped with the financial burden that will come with being on short-term disability.

Let's swing for the fences with our support.  Ok, that was cheesy but I had to show this amazing photo of Todd playing 1860 Rules Base Ball with the Afton Red Socks.

I will keep this page updated with Todd's progress.  Thank you in advance, for any gift you are able to give to this amazing family.

With Sincere Gratitude and Hope,
Amy

We haven't aged a bit!

He's safe!

Safe again!  Check out this beard mask!

His beard is almost as big as his neighbor's dog!  Not everything has to be about the battle.  I mean, look at that beard!

To those who have donated, called or texted to show your support, THANK YOU!  Todd and his family are feeling the love!  Keep it coming!

Todd's daughter, Laney, was the first to lighten the mood by exclaiming, "Does the beard have to go?"
