Funeral Expenses for Todd Miles

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Keri and on behalf of myself and my siblings, Patrick and Shannon, I am starting this fundraiser for our dad, Todd Miles.

Leading up to my dad's death, he spent 7 weeks in the hospital after contracting pneumonia as a result of COVID. While in the hospital, he was in the ICU on a ventilator, then to rehab to recover and regain his strength, then back to the ICU after further complications arose. While in the hospital, dad suffered a minor stroke which affected his mobility, had a gallbladder attack which would have required surgery, and meanwhile, all of this exaserbated his preexisting heart condition. His time in the hospital required extensive tests, procedures, and scans to determine what was going on, and how he could recover and return home.

During these 7 weeks, my mom (Dawn) spent countless days and nights by his side. Feeding him, tending to his comfort, and providing encouragement to help keep his spirits up. She was there to aid in his treatment, listening to the team of revolving nurses and doctors, and advocating for the best care possible. Mom never left his side in the end, and was there as he passed to say her final goodbye.

My dad was a selfless man. When asked about his health problems, he would divert and ask about you - he never wanted the conversation to be about his afflictions. He had an amazing sense of humor and could make light of any situation, always seeing the positive and the bright side of life. Even at the end, he was a fighter. He pushed himself in his rehabilitation and occupational therapy and tried his hardest to quickly return home to be with his family.

To those who know my mom, you know she would never talk about her struggles, and certainly would never ask for help. We are doing that for her. My dad was their sole provider, while my mom spent her days providing daycare for her grandchildren.

The goal of this fundraiser is to provide assistance to my mom to pay for the funeral expenses. Any amount you are able to, or willing to donate, will help provide peace of mind, and prevent stress from these incoming financial burdens. Thank you.
