Todd Rice's Journey to Recovery

Todd Rice is a staple in the community. Through his dedication to lifeguarding, he has made an impact from Ocean Beach to the shores of Blacks. He also has a great presence in the fishing and surfing communities, just a few of his many passions. The San Diego Lifesaving Association is happy to support one of our own lifeguards through this difficult time.

Todd recently suffered a major injury while surfing in Nicaragua. A boat was running through the surf line and ran over his leg. He has been receiving care in Nicaragua and plans are being made to get him back home in order to undergo more surgery to give him the best possible chances of having a full recovery. He is currently stable, but he has a long road ahead of him.

The San Diego Lifesaving Association is asking for assistance in helping Todd get through this difficult time. We're looking to help make the already hard road a bit easier, by supporting with medical bills (both international and at home), rehab costs, loss of work hardships and just general support from the community. It takes a village and we want to be here to support one of our well cherished lifeguard members during this time.

Anything you can donate helps! Sharing our fundraiser is also a huge help. We will continue to give updates and thank everyone in advance for your thoughtfulness and generosity during this time. The money raised will be given directly to Todd.
