Todd's Fight for Overtime
Donation protected
Our Dad has Stage 4 colonrectal cancer. What happened?!!?
On Thursday, April 27, Todd was at work when he started to feel faint, short of breath, and generally uneasy. He started to go down when he asked a coworker to get help. He was taken to the hosptial where they determined that his heart was in an abnormal heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation. This spurred the doctors to do blood tests to determine the cause of this heart rhythm. They found that Todd's hemoglobin levels were low. He was given 2 units of blood and they then went on to determine the source of blood loss. They started with investigating his gastrointestinal system.
On the following Friday & Saturday, Todd was informed that a lesion was found in his colon and they determined that it was cancerous. They then followed up with a CT scan and found that his cancer had metastasized and spread to a mass of lymphnodes and in his liver. The physicians told him that he has Stage 4 colon cancer.
On Sunday, April 30, the oncologist came to speak with Todd and said that Todd's cancer is TREATABLE but not BEATABLE. He has since had a PET scan and has no other found tumors. His current plan of action is to get a port placed, start chemo intravenously, and wear a chemo pump that he carries for a few days.
What NOW?!?!
Now know that Todd IS NOT defined by this cancer. He is a husband, a father, a grandfather, a son, a brother, a nephew, an uncle, a friend, a coach, a Christian, and so much more. He plans to FIGHT this. Todd grew up playing and coaching basketball and has a competitive nature. He knows what the doctor said but is fighting to go into overtime. So we are raising money to help him in his fight to win. He is expected to accrue many expenses with hospital visits, chemotherpay treaments, and decreased worktime. We want to raise money so that he has one less thing to worry about. We want him to be able to focus on his battle and this is one of the many ways we can support him.
Please consider to help. We are incredibly appreciative of any donation and ALL prayers.
Thank you in advance for your love, generosity, and faith that God has got this handled.
Love,
PJ, Paige, Nicole, Autumn, Alan-Michael, and Kristin
