What started as a celebratory gathering on May 13th at the end of the Campbell High School Soccer season turned into a disaster for one of our Varsity boys.
Enjoying some fun on the field, Salvador “Chava” Reyes suffered a serious injury to his forehead and nose, causing a bleed on his brain. He is in CCU and will remain in the hospital until the swelling in his brain and face goes down prior to reconstructive surgery. He will be in the hospital for many weeks, and the number of surgeries and therapies needed is not yet known.
Chava is a much-loved Captain of the Campbell H.S. Varsity team. As a senior, the talented, young defensive player #7 had plans to pursue a soccer career after high school.
Chava’s family needs help covering hospital/doctor bills and other expenses such as medications, doctor visits, and possible therapy. Additionally, there will be loss of income while they miss work to care for him. Ruby, Chava's sister, has been working hard to get the word out on his condition on Facebook and organizing other fundrasing efforts including this one.
Smyrna and the Soccer community is a caring, generous group of families always willing to help. Please consider helping Chava and his family get through this difficult time with a donation.
Our children and our families thank you!
