Together for Jacqui: Fighting Gestational Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Last month, my beautiful sister-in-law Jacqui was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer and will soon be starting her extensive treatment plan which includes chemotherapy, surgery, radiation and hormone blocking.
Following a gut feeling, Jacqui went to the doctor to check on a lump that she had first assumed was to do with breastfeeding. After several scans and biopsies, she was given the diagnosis of gestational breast cancer, a type of cancer specific to young mothers as it can only occur during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Being a devoted mum of five busy children, the youngest of which is not yet 12 months, she and her husband Brad are going to need the support of their family, friends and loved ones to get through this extremely tough time.
We know Jac and Brad and the kids have an extensive, loving community who want to help but might not know how, and with their focus on understanding the next steps of treatment and supporting the kids, I’ve set this up to be a lifeline for when they need to pay for medical expenses, childcare, groceries, cleaners, and everything else Jacqui normally does for her family, so the kids feel safe and supported and Jac can concentrate on her recovery and time with her family.
Every donation means the world to us, and no amount is too small. Thank you for reading this, being part of Jac’s journey, and spreading awareness of Gestational Breast Cancer, something Jacqui feels very passionate about. Together, we can support her as she fights this battle.
