Greetings! Thank you for attending Thaddeus and Rebecca's benefit event this evening in support of our family! As you heard discussed throughout this event, Brian and I, along with our children Cielo (13) and Mia Jo (7) are returning to South America to complete a 2 year unpaid commitment to serve as volunteer medical providers in southern Peru.
Yes-this is where we have lived before and yes -this is the same medical clinic we were part of constructing (2011/12) in "Nueva Jerusalen" -a financially impoverished and medically under-served community just outside the city limits of Tacna.
Brian and I are absolutely thrilled about returning to Peru this coming January as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Family Nurse Practitioner team. This is the fulfillment of vision and desire which we have worked towards without pause for over a decade...
Our combined heart is to provide healthcare and midwifery education with excellence in areas of the world where varied circumstances prevent families from accessing quality healthcare. To serve the community of Nueva Jerusalen in this new capacity - a community we have been in relationship with for over 14 years...has us beyond excited!
Historically we have been greatly blessed to be supported by various members of our family/friends/faith community who have contributed monthly to our service abroad (Middle East and South America). Their generosity has been a significant blessing in our families efforts of long term service. As we close in on our departure date (4 months away), Brian and I are taking a new-to-us approach to raising some of the funds required for this 2 year commitment.
We are boldly asking and inviting people such as yourself to consider financially contributing with a one time donation toward easing the financial cost that this type of volunteering naturally involves.
We are aiming to raise $10,000 via this GoFundMe .
