Together, we can give my father the farewell he deserves.

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted
strangers, It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of my father Walter Henry Edwards today 10/1/24 born July 15, 1947. He was a cherished by many, whether it was working for Sikorsky Aircraft or his time as a Civil Engineer working for the City of Bridgeport, he acquired a vast amount of friends, co-workers and just all around people that admired and loved him.

Anyone that knew him well knew he was a workaholic and an all around family oriented man. He was a father of 4 that was transparent and as real as one could be, He proved that real people do make mistakes in life and that no one is perfect. He found God in his later years and began to realize that in his earlier years he made some bad decisions. But with god he found that it was never too late to try to change his life around and do better with a second chance to undue some of his wrongs of the past . Unfortunately he didn’t have enough time to right all of his wrongdoings on his new journey. Sadly time is our worst enemy; he showed me that no man is perfect but we all have the ability and a choice to make things right if we make the effort in life.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
As we come to terms with my father’s passing, we are faced with the difficult task of arranging his final farewell. We want to give him the dignified and heartfelt send-off he deserves, but unfortunately, the financial burden of funeral expenses is overwhelming for our family during this already challenging time. After all this family has endured in these past few months of losing more than 10 lives, we are no strangers to pain or loss.

Now we are reaching out to our community for support in honoring my father’s memory. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial strain and allow us to focus on grieving and remembering him fondly.

Funds raised will go towards expenses, such as the funeral service, burial or cremation costs, transportation, memorial arrangements etc. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in ensuring that my father is laid to rest with the dignity and respect he deserves.

We also appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and messages of support during this difficult time. Your kindness means the world to us as we navigate through our grief. Thank you for your compassion and generosity. Together, we can give my father the farewell he deserves.
