Our Vision: Constructing A G+7 Mixed use Building

Selam Children's Village was established in response to the needs during the severe famine in 1984 in Ethiopia.

Since its inception, the organization has provided comprehensive support to children in need and the community by collecting funds from the Selam Switzerland Charity and mobilizing local resources in the country. However, funds from limited sources do not ensure sustainability. Moreover, Ethiopia's current civil conflict and drought have made many children and communities seek help. Therefore, prompt, accessible, and appropriate support is needed. The day you lend your kind hands to this sacred task is today, not tomorrow; if we put it off until tomorrow, the situation will be worse.

Let’s take care of the most vulnerable children, youth, and community. Let's wipe away the tears of the children crying because of hunger and the loss of their parents. Let's make a better life for children and youth in the community by supporting the bereaved parents.

To respond to this requires a lot of budget; to address sustainability issues as much as possible; we plan to build a G+7 mixed-use building that might generate substantial income regularly. The building will have rooms for offices and shops, halls, a youth center, and child and youth-friendly services to use and let. To materialize this plan, $3,500.000 USD (Three million five hundred thousand dollars) is required for the construction. Therefore, we call on everybody who could make this materialize by supporting this project. Together let us make a difference in the lives of most vulnerable children, youth and the community in Ethiopia.
