Oscar has experiencing mental health challenges over the last year, fighting every day to stay alive & get the medical help he needs. Unfortunately, things took a turn in the last few months requiring care beyond my or my mom's expertise. We'll be honest, we have hit a financial roadblock affecting his medical care, sadly insurance only covers a fraction of his care. Apart from downsizing to a studio, relocating, & taking on 3 additional jobs to help cover the costs. We are now at a point where his care could be stopped if we can't figure out a way to cover the costs of his institutional care. While daunting, we are hopeful to have made it this far, we have already worked hard to earn HALF! But are about a month away from needing to pay the remaining $20,000.

So we are asking our friends & loved ones for your support. In whatever shape or form that might take, if you have $5 or even 5-mintues to share we would be eternally grateful! We hope to not only spread acceptance & support for Oscar but for all the people we know & love who are experiencing mental health challenges.

When it comes to mental health, small actions equal big impact. It starts by promoting acceptance & compassion surrounding mental illness. Language matters & so does having a strong support system. The biggest lesson we have learned during our journey so far is that "asking for help isn't giving up, it's refusing to give up."
