Safe Water for Flint

Donation protected

Toledo, Ohio knows what it's like to have a water crisis. Unsafe drinking water hits close to home for us. Our water crisis lasted a few days. Flint's has been going on for two years.

Children with lead poisoning, rashes from showering, expensive bottled water.  These are things no one should have to deal with.
We are a group of Toledo citizens who stand in solidarity with the people of Flint.  We are social workers, grad students, nannies, and activists who have come together because we believe that everyone deserves safe drinking water.

We plan to use the funds raised to buy bottled water and other needed items here in Toledo, which we will drive up to Flint to St Mary's Church where water is being distributed to anyone who needs it. We are not affiliated with St Mary's in any way, but we are in contact with them about their needs.  They've asked specifically for gallons of water and baby wipes.  We recently met with a group of local Flint activists who are working closes with St Mary's and other groups and they've requested liquid baby formula, hand sanitizer, and mouth wash.

So far, we've brought 23 boxes of baby wipes, and 100 gallons of water to St. Mary's in Flint.  We are currently planning future trips both to distribute water and get involved with local canvassing efforts.
