Tom "Baja" Dalton

Meet Tom Dalton. Tom’s been in Lil' Rosey for 13 years. Like many of us, he visited here (to surf, starting at age 16) and ended up staying. A resident for 13 years, he lives alone, modestly, and has fallen on hard times.

Tom reached out to me for help with his Medicare prescriptions, and I brought some things out of him he doesn’t normally share.

He has 2 types of cancer, among other things, can’t bathe because the pipes in his unit haven’t worked for years, has no toilet, can’t do laundry, has 2 teeth, no real friends and wears the same clothes most days. He also has no transportation, so sits around the yard all day and must use a taxi to get his mail in town.

I promised him I’d reach out, and am actively getting him some pants, shirts, underwear, socks and other necessities.

Does anyone know of other services provided in town that can help in his situation? He’s too proud to ask for for anything, but he could use some help with local transportation, so anything or any information provided will help.
