Tom Cats Don't Pay Kitten Support - Help Us Pay for Babies
Tax deductible
Cats Pawjamas Rescue Society needs to raise $3,000 because "Kittens are expensive and Tom cats don't pay Kitten Support!". Can you help?
Our mission is to rescue and rehome kittens that are at risk of death via euthanasia or illness. We prepare these kittens, both medically and socially, to be great family members!
Rescues like Cats Pawjamas are critical in maintaining Kansas's 90% save rate. They work closely with one of the state's 25 "kill shelters" to ensure that every kitten or cat that can be saved is saved.
We are entering "Kitten Season" and it requires proportionately more capital to successfully raise these tiny creatures to an adoptable age. Cats Pawjamas has already received pregnant cats, mom's and kittens and orphan kittens.
At this time of year, the kittens rescued tend to be younger and often require a specialized diet, more equipment and medication. They are also in our care longer, requiring more food and litter. The cost to raise them is about the same as their adoption fee, leaving us no backup for unexpected costs.
And darn those Tom cats! They just won't pay kitten support!
For example, orphan kittens may require kitten formula until they are 6 weeks old or older. (Cat food and formula are blended to gently transition orphans to solid food.) This will require multiple tubs of formula at $65/tub. They must have good quality "kitten" or "all life stages" dry food at over $35-$40 a bag. Mom's need the extra calories found in kitten food and will be eating that as well.
In addition to food, the need for basic items like vaccines (each kitten receives a vaccination every 3 weeks from age 4 weeks to 16 weeks of age), wormer, spays and neuters at about $75 each and equipment like potty pads, syringes and needles, cleaning supplies increases dramatically.
Then there is the unexpected. Such as a kitten with a 5+/6 heart murmur that will require a specially monitored spay, and possibly an ECG at over $500.
It's difficult for small groups like Cats Pawjamas to compete against larger groups for grants, so small fundraisers like this provide their contingency funds.
Please, please help them save kittens in Kansas! They appreciate whatever you can give!

Any donation is appreciated! Thank you for your support!
