Tom & Deborah Felix (funeral & medical expenses)

Donation protected

Dear Family and Friends,

On the afternoon of January 20th, 2021, tragedy fell upon the Felix family. Our father, Thomas Ray Felix, and mother, Deborah Ann Felix, were innocently involved in a violent car accident that resulted in the loss of our father and sent our mother to the hospital in critical condition.

The accident was caused due to a negligent and senseless act of a criminal's attempt to evade the police. The criminal led police in a high-speed chase through neighboring cities and collided into our parents' car under the 210 freeway overpass on Beech Ave. While the criminal is currently in police custody, our mother lays in a hospital bed fighting for her life and our father's life taken from us as our family is left with grief and uncertainty. There are news articles of the incident but we don't want to link them here because of the devastating images that we don't want to see anymore and we want the focus of this to be based on the profound love our parents have in their heart.

If you have ever met our parents you already know how great of people they are. They've been happily married for 36 years. The love they have for each other is something so admirable it's hard to even put into words. They loved each other like it was still their honeymoon and they truly knew how to enjoy the little things in life. They always made time for a date-night every Tuesday and Friday. And always under any condition made time for family. They were truly inseparable because of the bond they shared with each other. It’s unimaginable to know that my mama lost her best friend. The one that supported her through thick and thin, that complimented her beauty everyday, that spent everyday putting a smile on her face just to hear her beautiful laugh. And to know she still doesn’t know my dad is no longer with us while she is in intensive care recovering from this horrific incident is so painful.

I still can’t believe that I’ll never see my dad walk through the front door again. My dad was such a beautiful man. Not only did we lose our dad but a husband, a tata, a brother, a tio, a cousin, a friend and to all of us there is a story of the impact he had on each of our lives. He would do anything for his family and it hurts so bad knowing that we lost our Rock. He left a mark in our lives that no man can fill. He gave us experiences and memories that will live on forever through us. I’ll never understand how this could happen to such a beautiful man. It hurts so much knowing that his big bear hugs, his jokes, his laughs, his unconditional love is something that we’ll never get to experience again in this lifetime and we’ll have to hold onto the memories of them and cherish them forever. There’s something indescribable about the loss of a dad like ours that I’ll never be able to put into words. Like a piece of your heart just got chipped away at and it’ll never fully be recovered. I feel so blessed to have experienced a love like his, a dad like him. And although he will never physically be here with us I know we gained a Guardian Angel. And while we mourn the loss of our dad we ask that everyone please keep our mom  in your prayers. She’s fighting hard for her life and we need all the prayers.

Hold on to and cherish the people in your lives because you truly never know when it will be the last, and you’ll keep asking yourself “why? Or what if?” And knowing that you’ll never get an answer is so painfully hard to endure.

While we continue to pray each and everyday for our mom's recovery and also grieving the loss of our father, we have also taken the responsibility of care for our 94-year-old grandmother (our mom's mother) amidst COVID-19 pandemic and the immediate financial responsibilities of their bills (rent & utilities).

We ask for and truly appreciate any help that you can assist us with. The $50,000 goal is mostly set just as a placeholder since we are unsure of what costs and expenses are to come.
The funds raised here will be used towards:
1) Funeral expenses for our dad, Thomas Ray Felix
2) The medical expenses for our mom, Deborah Ann Felix
3) Immediate financial bills due, such as rent and utilities
4) Continued payment of those bills for the upcoming months to get us through this
5) Any accommodations our mom is going to require to rehabilitate when she is finally able to return home from the hospital

(just delete the "space" between the " paypal. " and  "me/OlgaMFelix" I don't want the hyperlink removed from the gofundme admins)
If you use "PayPal Friends & Family" option there are no fees by using a PayPal account or bank account.

We sincerely appreciate any help you offer. Even sharing this with others will help. We understand that right now it may be hard to donate money for help, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, economic climate and everyone's individual struggles, but we truly appreciate any help to get us through this. We also appreciate and encourage any prayers of healing for our mother. We truly believe there is power in prayer and we send prayers everyday for her.

Thank you and God bless,

The Felix Family
