Tom Gardner Fundraiser

Hello! I have decided to facilitate a fundraiser to help Tom with all of his needs during this difficult time. At the end of last week, he suffered an extremely rare and devastating stroke in his neck — called a spinal cord infarction. He remains in critical condition and is currently intubated. There are signs of hope but there is significant paralysis. It will take time before we know the full extent of the damage and the potential for recovery. At this point, he can only communicate with his eyes and nodding his head. The medical details change hourly, though we've been advised on timelines of weeks, months, possibly even years. This type of stroke has been seen by his neurology team only five times in 30 years of their experience. There’s still a lot we don’t know but so much more that we do.

Tom has done so much for this community and would give a high five or fist bump to everyone. During this difficult time I know how hard it can be to keep up on regular funds on top of medical expenses.

All funds will be donated directly to his family. Donations will be used for expenses for Tom's urgent medical care, family travel, potential relocation expenses and any unforeseen costs pertaining to this very devastating situation he's facing. Doctors have informed us that we're looking at acute, long-term care and this has all thrown us off center as he's so active and loving and beloved.
