Tom Gorman

In honor of Tom Gorman and with deep appreciation for your support, we ask you to consider a small donation to fund vital animal care in the newly constructed animal hospital at Sea Turtle Inc. on South Padre Island, TX.

We are heartbroken that Tom has left us so soon. We were married in the chapel at USD thirty short years ago. He lived his life developing close friendships and caring deeply for people. His laugh was contagious and he had an idiom for every situation. His philosophy was simply to leave things better than he found them. You may remember him as family, coach, teammate, co-worker, friend, “the Voice of San Marin Football” and most important to him – Chris’s Dad.

When he had the microphone, it was always an opportunity to lift people up, especially young people. He was a gentle Giant, sports junkie, a family man and an optimist.

Tom recently retired from a successful tech sales career and spent the last year walking our Labradors on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. He planned to travel and catch up with friends all around the globe. We’d recently decided on San Diego for retirement and he was looking forward to visits and golfing with old and new friends.

Tom’s proudest achievement in life has been raising our son and watching him become a confident man and dedicated scientist. He admired Chris’s work and was looking forward to seeing him continue to save highly endangered sea turtles in the new state-of-the-art hospital facility. Tom eagerly volunteered on Christmas Day to work alongside his son to rescue and later release sea turtles affected by a cold stun event in 2022.

Your love and friendship have been our lifeline this week. It is more than enough and we look forward to happier times celebrating him in the future. If you choose to honor Tom with a donation, we thank you.
