Tom Porton -former Bx teacher- acts of kindness

Hello My name is Michele (Covington) Washington. The article you see is about Tom Porton. who was my English teacher in James Monroe high school in 1973. He spent over 40 years teaching and performing community service with his students throughout New York City.

Approximately two years ago he had a heart surgery that left him in a coma for one month,hospitalized for one month and in a nursing home for 2 years. He currently has a permanent trach and is wheelchair bound, YET continues acts of kindness to support children in the Bronx community where he now resides in a senior living community.

Tom Porton gave so much to so many and funds are needed to assist Tom to continue his missions of kindness. He gave so much and now it is time for him to receive!
