Tom Riser’s eyes & teeth Immediate Health Needs

Hi, most of you know me as Tom’s wife, Vicki. A few years back his Drs told him he had diabetes, a type that is genetic and even if he lost weight, he would still have it the rest of his life. His sugar dropped drastically about a year ago one night and ever since, he can barely see. He has been seeing Dr Alley, a retina specialist at Retina Associates of Ga and has been getting Eyelea shots in his eyes every 2-3 weeks at the cost of $200 each and that was with me filing out paperwork for indigent care, since his job doesn’t offer ins and he can’t afford individual ins at this time. Full price is around $3000 each. . This was because his vitreous in both eyes were swollen and his retinas were hemorrhaging. He is at the point now where his new doctor, Dr. Moore a cataract surgeon in Macon told him this week he is legally blind and needs this cataract surgery as soon as possible to prevent permanent blindness. Dr Moore believes that with the surgery, he should have excellent results. I am now driving him to and from work and anywhere else he may need to go. He has also been in consultation with Affordable dentures in Macon and they said all of his teeth are either dead or dying because of the type of diabetes he has. He wants implants, but they are too expensive, even at affordable dentures. He is now to the point he can barely eat anything and would be most grateful for dentures. He is the only one who works. I have been on disability now for years due to a heart abnormality, back and neck surgeries. We have prayed and prayed over this situation and as hard as it is to ask for help, we don’t see any other way out. He needs his eyes to continue to have a job and enjoy a normal life. The Drs told him his teeth play a vital role in his overall health. This could actually be fatal if any kind of infection from the teeth gets to his bloodstream. We both hate and are very embarrassed to have to ask for help, but even the smallest amounts help. Even if you are strapped like we are, please pray for him. We appreciate each and everyone of you more that you realize.
