Tom White Legacy Fund

My name is Ryan Freimann, and for the past (almost) 14 years, I have had the privilege of being Tom White's Son-In-Law (but I have known the White Family most of my life). We have all come into Tom's life in many ways, and I was lucky enough to call him family, but I know with certainty that no matter how much or little time you spent with him, Tom treated you like family. There is nothing he wouldn't do for just about anyone. This week, we heard a story from the daughter of one of Tom's friends from Indiana, a person Tom had never met. She told us that she had posted on Facebook that her daughter was doing chores to earn money for her guinea pigs' upkeep, and Tom sent them the money signing the card "Fairy Grandfather." He had also sent her other daughters money for a fundraiser so their girls could get all of their books.

 

This is just a sample of not only the heart Tom had but the action he took. And everyone knew him for these qualities, whether on the golf course, when he was behind the wheel driving you or your family to the airport, on the baseball fields of Villa Park or Yorba Linda, or simply because you were lucky enough for him to have come into your life. Tom was giving without judgment, there for you in a pinch, and loyal to a fault. He was present at a moment's notice and there for the duration. He cheered you on and picked you up. He will be forever missed.

 

Because of these qualities, and knowing that Tom was both a proud and hardworking man, many have reached out and asked how they could help financially, which is a question we have candidly struggled with. The truth is we will help take care of Joyce no matter what, but any contribution will help make it easier for the family to accomplish that mission and alleviate any worries in so doing.

 

Tom loved The Beatles so much, and one of the best lines from one of their greatest songs goes: "And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make." We know Tom created an immeasurably amount of love, and we thank you for being part of his life so that he could take that with him, where we know he is watching down with a smile on his face and a golf club in hand.
