Tomas Jack's fight against Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Donation protected
Our Son Tomas Jack is 18, he recently passed his driving test in March 2022, completed his level 2 Electrical installation at College in July and was excited to start his Apprenticeship come September. He had a plan to work hard over the summer and save for his first ever lads holiday abroad, and take his girlfriend to the Winter Wonderland in London in December. On the 18th of July Tomas finished college, his sister finished school, and our summer holidays were meant to start, but we just had a hospital appointment on the 20th of July to attend first. Tomas had gone to the GP a few weeks before as he'd pulled his shoulder at the gym & it was causing him a lot of pain in his arm, and he had a visible lump under his collar bone. A scan was arranged, and he had no other concerning symptoms or signs. We were told Tomas had a mass in his chest the size of a fist, We waited two long anxious weeks for a diagnosis, and we were devastated to hear the words no parent want's to hear. It's Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a blood cancer. We went on to find out over the next few weeks and after more tests, scans and a biopsy that the mass was contained in his chest cavity and was classed as stage two cancer. Fast forward six weeks, Tomas has undergone his first lot of chemotherapy; he needs 12 rounds in all, over six months. We want to set up this fundraising page to spur Tomas on through his treatment and give him a focus so when he rings that bell, he CAN go on to book that lad's holiday, something all 18-year-olds look forward to. He's been so unbelievably brave while missing out on so much this summer, plans with his family, friends and girlfriend, and also having to take a year out of college and work to fight this disease.

September is Hodgkins Lymphoma awareness month; Hodgkins Lymphoma is the 5th most common cancer, and symptoms are often overlooked as something else. In the coming months/year, we will do some fundraising to raise much-needed funds for our son and select charity as a "THANK YOU" because, without donations, these charities can't continue their research into this awful disease. We welcome all contributions, however big or small. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story. X
