Hello everyone! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Emily Smith. I was Tommy Gallagher’s Com Hab worker for the past 15 months. I have spent many mornings working with and being a companion to him. Tommy quickly became very special to me. As many of you know, Tommy was battling cancer for the second time and was receiving treatment at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Unfortunately, Tommy’s battle came to an end as he passed peacefully on the evening of July 17th surrounded by his loving family. After speaking with Tommys family, who are some of the most selfless people I know, they have decided to donate these funds to a place that made Tommy so incredibly happy.. Camp Anchor. Tommy attended Camp Anchor for many years and if you knew him, you knew how much he loved it. It was the highlight of every summer for him and he was devastated he couldn’t attend this year due to his treatment. Camp Anchor serves children and adults with special needs who live in the town of Hempstead. They are a nonprofit organization that accept and use donations to maintain and further support programs, fund special activities and events, as well as necessary supplies and equipment. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
