On Friday, 18 November, Lt Col Thompson “T-Wo” Wofford passed away from a heart attack leaving behind his wife Julie and daughters Caroline (10yrs) and Alyson (8yrs). “T-Wo” was 41 and living out his dream as the Deputy Commander, 962 Airborne Air Control Squadron (AACS) here in Alaska where he planned to retire from the Air Force.
Tommy began having chest pains on Friday morning while exercising with his squadron during a Squadron resiliency day; a day designed to build teamwork, esprit de corps, and both the physical and mental toughness needed to do the job he loved. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. He passed shortly after arriving.
As you can imagine, Julie and the girls are crushed as they begin to face the myriad of tough choices these types of events bring and try to rebuild their lives. We, the 962 AACS Spouses Group, have set up this Go Fund Me site as a way to help the family with travel, daily expenses, memorial items, or whatever may be needed. It will be given to Julie at the Tuesday memorial on base and closed out when the goal is met. While any gift you give will not heal the pain, it will help Julie, Caroline, and Alyson cope with the challenges of a devastating loss.
Thank you
