Tommy Needs A New Ride!

If you've ever visited downtown Springdale, Arkansas you've likely seen or had the pleasure of meeting Tommy.
In the 1980’s Tommy was a well-known bull rider. One particular night a bull tossed Tommy off of it's back and pinned him between the bull’s body and the rodeo fencing leaving him paralyzed and in a coma for 9 months. Tommy says he experienced a lot in those nine months including a visit from God who told him he was giving him a second chance at life. Tommy is a beacon of light for his downtown friends and neighbors and often teaches us to slow down and be more present.
Although Tommy is paralyzed in most of his body from the waist down, he lives on his own and takes care of himself. His scooter is his life source, his connection to the rest of the world. Without his motorized scooter, Tommy is limited to his home and front porch. He loves taking his scooter down to the Shiloh Square near the greenway trail so he can keep an eye on his beloved town and see his friends.
His current scooter is sadly on its last leg. The battery is not staying charged long enough for him to trust the 6-block journey it takes to get downtown and back home. We’d like to surprise Tommy with a new scooter from his friends and neighbors for Christmas.
He needs one with sturdy wheels made for riding the roads and a battery that charges easily and stays charged for several hours.
