Tommy Smith’s Cancer Treatment

UPDATE: He was two days away from starting radiation and took a turn for the worse. I was there visiting him so we went to the ER. He was admitted. Scans showed his airway was close to being compromised. His oncologist and ENT thought it best to do a tracheostomy to protect his airway. While healing from the trach they are going to give him one more round of chemo and then straight to radiation. He text me “I’m in a lot of pain, but nothing is going to stop me!” We are so appreciative of all the love and support! Please keep praying !

Not many know but my brother Tommy has been courageously fighting Stage 4 Head and Neck Cancer for several months. He spent over 75 days in the hospital and has finished 3 rounds of a very aggressive chemotherapy regimen. I am so proud of how he has handled this horrific disease. He now needs to move to outpatient radiation. The upfront medical fees they require for tests, and treatment aren’t feasible for him or my family, so we are asking for any help anyone is able to provide. If unable to provide a monetary contribution we ask for your prayers for strength, healing, pain relief and peace for my brother. He is in a great deal of pain and radiation on your head and neck is an especially painful process. He is determined to beat this and come out on the other side a new man with a great deal of perspective. Time is of the essence and without money in hand he can’t get the process started.
