Tommy's Whole Grain Bakery

Hi there, my name is Tommy Aird, I am the owner baker of Tommy's Whole Grain, a retail bakery opening in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Committing to whole grain baking is a crucial step for me as a baker to provide to most flavourful products with the highest nutritional value while supporting regional grain farmers and lowering our environmental impact. We're not just reducing food waste, we are ensuring the most nutritional parts of our food aren't being lost to archaic industrial practices. I can't do this on my own. I need your help. I am putting everything I have in on this plan, and because I won't have anything to fall back on, the banks are only willing to help so much. The plan is in place, the lease is signed, and construction is underway. This is the last piece of the puzzle. I need your help to make sure that after construction is complete, there is enough money left for equipment. I need you help to make sure we can open with a sheeter, to save our hands from non-stop rolling. I need your help making sure we can afford the right oven, ensuring our ability at baking some of the best bread in the city. All donations will go directly towards equipment, smallwares (like bannetons and couche), and packaging, and making sure the lights stay on while we build-up our costumer base. Thank you so much for your interest and support in community bakeries.
