Tomorrow4Toni Memorial Fund

We have established a Memorial Fund for Toni.  The fund's main purpose will be to provide a scholarship or financial assistance to a student that meets the requirements set forth by the Funds Committee members.  To receive the scholarship, the committee will look at GPA, student involvement, a short essay, and the need for financial assistance. 
Outside of providing a scholar with educational assistance, this fund's goal is to raise awareness of mental illness in our country and to help prevent future suicides. 
Mental health within the US cannot be ignored and we can always continue to educate ourselves and others in the matter.  From the terrible mass killings, to celebrities like Robin Williams, we tend to ignore the issue until it hits home.  When something tragic happens, like when I lost my sister Toni, it is tough to focus on anything else but pain and sorrow.  However, the reality is that we can learn from all these horrific life events and raise awareness by educating through the web on common symptoms, having conversations with loved ones and friends, and raising funds to stem more research. 
Toni's favorite movie growing up was Annie, it felt appropriate to call this drive #tomorrowfortoni referring to the famous song "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow".  We feel her love every day as the sun comes up but still need to be aware that it may not be bright for someone else at that moment.  Thank you for your support and help in raising more awareness.
