Tongaat Tornado Relief

Donation protected
On 3 June 2024, a tornado hit the town of Tongaat in KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. Many homes were severely damaged or destroyed in the process, leaving many families without a roof over their heads, and with their personal property damaged or destroyed. Much of the area affected by the tornado was struck by devastating floods only two years prior, and the community was still recovering from those floods when their lives were up-ended once again.

While the cost of repair for the damaged properties themselves is covered by insurance for most families, not all families had such insurance. Furthermore, in the months it will take for their homes to be brought back to a liveable condition, these people are in urgent need of supplies such as food for themselves and any infants, blankets, clothes, bottled drinking water, etc. It's these things that the money we hope to raise with this fundraiser will go towards, and perhaps, if we raise enough, we may even be able to help some families who did not have insurance to rebuild (part of) their homes.

We sincerely hope you will donate to help this stricken community, and thank you for any money you can contribute. Every little helps.
