Tony & Boys Flood Relief
Donation protected
Antonio Monzon Jr is a single father of two and a lifelong resident of San Diego. Most of his life was spent in Chula Vista & National City however, Tony has owned his home on Gamma St in National City since 2022. He has two young boys and coaches their tee ball team as well as play an active role in the committee at the Memorial Rec Center.
Tony dedicated 24 years to AT&T as a technician but, was forced to retire due to a back injury. Besides being a life long classic car enthusiast and member of his car club for over 33 years (Since 1991) Tony and the boys are also well known in the Diecast/Hot Wheels community where they collect and customize toy cars and will usually have a booth set up to vend their extras. Unfortunately due to this disaster the lifelong collection that Tony had saved for the boys college fund was fully underwater and ruined by the flood as well as the shop tools, paint and supplies for their customizing hobby.
On Monday Jan 22,2024, San Diego suffered a flash flood watch that quickly turned tragic. Due to city negligence, the storm drains & sewer drains were backed up with debris and trash causing a city wide flood with a mixture of raw sewage and rain water. Tony was home alone at this time, laying in bed when he was awaken by the flash flood warning alert. His house quickly filled with contaminated water up to three feet. Fortunately Tony was able to act quickly, get the power turned off and get his dog to higher ground. However , most of his belongings, clothes (shoes) furniture, appliances and tools were damaged.
He will need to repair the damages to his home as well as replace all of his belongings. If you can donate anything helps in this difficult time while he is trying to rebuild.
