Help support our dads memorial, Tony
Donation protected
We are really sad to share the sudden and unexpected loss of our dad, Tony Doan (Hung Van Doan). His absence has left a big hole in all of our lives.
Our dad was originally from Vietnam and left his homeland in the mid-1980's, during a time when the country was still at war. At just 16 years old, he set out on a journey alone to Canada, seeking safety and opportunities for a better life. He spent most of his life in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. He was deeply loved and cherished by his community.
Our dad loved the three of us, his children, with all his heart and treasured his friends and family deeply. He was known for his welcoming, kind, and loving nature toward anyone and everyone he met. Although he was not able to work for many years because of health issues, he continually found ways to serve and care for others.
His favourite pastimes included spending time with us - his family, worshipping with his church, enjoying meals with friends and playing Big 2. We will miss him very much.
As his family, we are incredibly grateful for the love and offers of help and support from his friends and community. Any contributions will go towards covering memorial and related expenses, and helping us navigate this difficult time. We are deeply grateful for contribution no matter the amount. Thank you<3
