9/12/2022 Update with new health issues:
I’m sharing because I continue to want to help these friends and good people who go out of their way to help other’s when they can.
Per Kim’s post:
“So Tony and I are both about done with this year...we've dealt with him almost cutting off his fingers, sepsis, surgery to remove his pacemaker, 6wks of IV infusions, Covid, surgery to replace his pacemaker, a mini stroke, and surgery to remove his pain pump...that was August 17th. On August 28th he was admitted to Good Shepherd in Longview for an abdominal abscess where the pain pump was taken out. They did a procedure where they drew out 10 cc of fluid from his stomach, and when it returned, his General surgeon went in and cleaned out the area and left it open. He was released from the hospital Sept 2nd, and I was able to go back to work Sept 6th. On Saturday, Cynthia had to take him back to the ER in Longview because despite everything we were doing he had another infection. He is back in Good Shepherd again. He goes back into surgery tomorrow...We have heard words being thrown around like wound vac, home health, and today even heard his hospitalist say something about a pic line and at home IV infusions. All of this is worst case scenario, but still, neither of us want to go back to that again. So if you feel so inclined and can say a little prayer for my guy, I'd really appreciate it. ❤️ Thank you
This fund raising event will help cover the expenses for the following: Infusion copays.
gas to and from each daily treatment 7 days a week and food.
GoFundMe: My hope is that many people will come together to help Tony and Kim with this fundraiser and share this link to the GoFundMe.
I will only make changes to increase this fundraiser when and if circumstances call for it. Once infection free, Tony will have to have another surgery to implant a new pacemaker, we’ll cross that road when we get there.
Other ways to give: The Zelle App.~ Kim has an easy to use Zelle account that family and friends can use to direct fund straight into her bank account without losing funds to fees.
*To use Zelle you must also have this app so that you can use her cell number in your contacts to transfer money directly to her account from your account.
Cash: Cash is always an option if you know you’ll be seeing Kim in person then consider giving directly to her.
Not knowing what the future holds is kinda scary but we can’t fully live our lives if we don’t let go and have faith to trust God.
Kim understands that anything could change from one day to the next. We are all praying for a positive outcome. Kim and Tony appreciate your thoughtfulness and giving heart that is helping meet their current needs. Your prayers are an encouragement to them. Thank you for your compassion and love for the Brooks family.
Sincerely, Wendy
