Our dad is moving to Idaho! As many of you know, our dad was diagnosed with Early-onset Alzheimers about three years ago. This journey for him and the family has been very difficult, but we look onwards thankful for the time we still have left with him! With the progression of the disease, we decided it was time to move him to Idaho into an assisted living/memory care facility so he can get all the care he needs! He is excited to move to Idaho to be closer to his boys, while still having Makayla only a short flight away!
From the bottom of our hearts we want to thank you for coming along as a support the last two years in our great time of need. This experience has shown us a lot that family is not just blood, but the people who choose to walk these challenges with us! Each and every time someone calls and reaches out to my dad it brightens his day! He has been through so much and you all have helped him relive so many amazing memories.
The journey onward is going to be a tough one. This disease is nothing, but ruthless and sad. That being said, his kids are looking forward to giving him the best life possible moving forward. We look forward to cherishing these moments with our dad. One thing that has always been my dads favorite thing in the world is being with his kids. Moving him into this facility is going to pave way for greater freedom for us so we can simply enjoy being with him!
The unfortunate reality is the level of care my dad needs is extremely expensive. We are asking for assistance to support my Dad’s move to Idaho and his first month in full time care. There are added precautions for new residents the facility must take due to COVID which adds a considerable amount to the cost of his first month of residency. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated! More than anything we ask that you pray for us as a family! Please pray for strength and joy to abound in this next season for my dad. Please pray for this transition to be smooth and governed by peace.
