Tony Porterfield

Tony Porterfield passed away in his sleep suddenly, of natural causes, Monday, March 20th, 2023.

Tony has been a selflessly dedicated volunteer member of the Washington Civil Air Patrol for 20 years. He joined the Seattle Composite Squadron in March 2003. Tony has served in a variety of command positions at the Squadron, Group and Wing level.

Operationally, Tony held the rating of Master Observer, Incident Commander Level 2, Operations Section Chief, Planning Section Chief, Air Operations Branch Director and FASC. He has served as an Aircrew member and base staff for many years and led the Wing as IC in the 2011 Air Force evaluation exercise. He has also participated as a member of the Air Force Evaluation team for the Hawai’i Wings GLE in 2011.

Tony is survived by his wife Michele of 29 years and their 4 children. Together, they have selflessly served the Civil Air Patrol for 20 years. At the time of his passing, Michele and Tony were the primary caregivers for Michele's 91-year-old mother. Michele will be living on a fixed income and isn't financially prepared for Tony's sudden passing. Tony will be cremated and memorial services will be held this summer in Seattle, WA and Riverside, WA. Your gracious donations will be used for funeral and short-term living expenses while the family adapts to the new normal.
