Tony Spezio Memorial Fly Rod
Donation protected
We the students and associates of Tony Spezio want to help the family. Both Tony and his wife Dorothy have spent all of their savings due to an extended stay with the local nursing home. Tony's family had to pay out of their own pockets for his funeral. The only asset left is the family home which is where they will recoup their out of pocket expenses. Unfortunately this leaves nothing for a stone for Tony and later for Dot. Tony was an extraordinary person who built is own airplane, tied flies, and made bamboo fly rods by hand. He was a mentor, teacher, and inspiration for many of us who pursue the craft of rod making. Their daughter Gina would like to purchase this stone prior to taking Dot back to her home in New Jersey. Those of us close to Tony are making a memorial bamboo fly rod with case. All contributions are welcome, but anyone who contributes at least $50.00 will have their name entered in a drawing for the rod. This will be an heirloom quality "Crooked Creek Special" made by Jay Hieb with contributions from other makers that Tony mentored or taught. The wooden case will be made by Christopher Sparkman. All contributions will be acknowledged and those who contribute in multiples of $50 will have multiple entries in the drawing. All gifts of any amount are sincerely appreciated.
